Her Noise: Feminism and the Sonic

An interesting looking series of events coming up at Tate Modern - Her Noise: Feminism and the Sonic, including a performance and talk by the legendary Pauline Oliveros. Her Noise promises to be an exploration into "developing emergent feminist discourses in sound and music...challenging standard readings and approaches to feminisms and the sonic, this symposium brings together musicians, artists, academics and writers, including Cosey Fanni Tutti and Ute Meta Bauer."

Queens of Disco

On TV tonight, and then repeated on iPlayer, is the documentary Queens of Disco - pretty self-explanatory. We haven't seen it yet so despite the dubious inclusion of Madonna (disco? she wishes) it's got to be worth a view if only for the archive footage. There's also a screening of 'The Joy of Disco' documentary and a Disco at The BBC compilation programme for those of you who won't stop ('til you get enough)
